Clap Rules su DFA DFA l’independent dancelabel newyorkese fondata da Tim Goldsworthy e James Murphy pubblica il nuovo vinile 12” di Michoacan. Fernando Miranda “Michoacan” Rios, cavallo di razza DFA, che ha pensato bene di far remixare il suo “In The Dark of the Night” dai nostri (e nostrani!) Clap Rules on DFA DFA, NY independent dancelabel founded by Tim Goldsworthy and James Murphy, is releasing the new Michoacan 12” vinyl. Fernando Miranda “Michoacan” Rios, proudly representing the funkier side of DFA, asked to our homeboys Clap Rules for a remix of his track “In The Dark of the Night”. Clap Rules is an italian trio with a disco approach formed by Fabrizio Mammarella, Andrea Gabriele & Massimiliano Leggieri. The vinyl, with a strong funk color, will be released on march 30th, but you can pre-order it on DFA site. Nuovo album per Superpitcher
La maggiore notizia di questa settimana è relativa a Superpitcher, il quale ha completato il suo secondo studio album. Il titolo è “Kilimangiaro” e sarà pubblicato dalla Kompakt il 17 maggio. New album for Superpitcher
The big news this week is that Superpitcher has completed recording his sophomore studio album - it´s entitled KILIMANJARO and will be released here on KOMPAKT on 17 May. The first single is called RABBITS IN A HURRY and will be out on the 5 March. The folks at SELF-TITLED got the full scoop - you can read an interview with SUPERPITCHER where he talks all about the recording and more plus check out some lovely pics of his studio and a even have a listen/watch a youtube video for RABBITS IN A HURRY!

Solidarietà alla popolazione di Haiti La settimana scorsa il pianeta è stato sconvolto da una tragedia immane, il terremoto ad Haiti. Di fronte a cataclismi di queste dimensioni la solidarietà ci sembra doverosa. AGIRE, Agenzia Italiana Risposta Emergenze, è una Onlus che si sta occupando della raccolta fondi per la popolazione di Haiti. Sono già stati raccolti 7,5 milioni di euro via sms. Fai anche voi una donazione!
25 gennaio: in arrivo la nuova uscita defrag Ci siamo. Gli alieni stanno arrivando sul Pianeta Terra. Il disco volante ‘dfrg28’, contenente i due remix extraterrestri di Babicz e Pan/Tone per “I Feel Love” di Gui Boratto, si trova ormai nell’orbita terrestre. Tenetevi pronti: lunedì 25 gennaio l’UFO atterrerà in casa defrag e la Kompakt, provvederà a diffonderne il messaggio musicale a tutti i techno-lovers del mondo. È infatti giunto il momento per una brazilian-german-canadian connection: il tedesco Robert Babicz e il canadese Pan/Tone hanno remixato il brasiliano Gui Boratto (“I Feel Love”, dfrg27), confezionando due splendide gemme di techno sopraffina. Il primo con il suo “Earth Mix” mostra tutte le sue abilità di remixer con un pezzo al contempo elegante ed energico ed è impossibile non rimanere ipnotizzati ed assuefatti dal super-fat-sound che contraddistingue tutte le produzioni di Babicz.
Sull’altro lato del vinile diamo il benvenuto a bordo al nostro amico Pan/Tone ed il suo debutto per noi non poteva essere migliore: “Sweaty Hands Remix” è un brano sofisticato e percussivo dal gusto decisamente old school. Ewan Pearson pubblicherà il suo terzo CD mix per Kompakt all´inizio del prossimo anno. Con una carriera ricca di attività che vanno dai remix alle produzioni, fino alla creazione di un libro che esamina la politica della cultura “dance”. Ha all’attivo cd mixati per le rinomate serie “fabric” e “Sci.Fi.Hi.Fi” in qualità di biglietti da visita per le sue innumerevoli gig internazionali. Pearson preferisce ancora il classico setup da dj per gli show in giro per il mondo, anche se per i dj mix prodotti in studio sfrutta in pieno le potenzialità di Ableton Live, lavorando e miscelando in tempo reale le tracce. Ewan ha nuovamente usato questo metodo per il mix Kompakt, che va sotto il nome di “We Are Proud Of Our Choices” che lo vede concentrarsi sulla tech house melodica che tanto ha caratterizzato la sua carriera.

Ewan Pearson will release his third commercial mix CD on Kompakt early next year. Arguably the finest thing to come from his hometown of Kidderminster, Pearson has certainly had an eventful career, with activities ranging from remixing and producing bands, through to authoring a book that looks into the politics of dance music culture. He´s no stranger to the world of DJing either, with mixes for the renowned Fabric and Sci.Fi.Hi.Fi series acting as calling cards for his countless international appearances behind the decks. While Pearson may favour the standard DJing setup when playing out, his recent studio mixes have seen him harness the power of Ableton Live, working long blends and editing tracks on the fly. Ewan has again used this methodology for his Kompakt mix, which goes under the name of We Are Proud Of Our Choices and sees him focus on the melodic tech-house sound that he´s been cultivating throughout his DJing career.

Dopo un weekend lungo e denso di impegni ben ritrovati al nostro appuntamento settimanale.
Cominciamo con il mostrarvi i video di quello che è stato un vero e proprio Evento. Al Divinae Follie di Bari, Michael Mayer ha intrattenuto più di 4000 persone a colpi di techno made in Germany , dimostrando, come se ne avesse ancora bisogno, la sua classe. Siamo veramente orgogliosi di lavorare con un personaggio del suo calibro, capace di capire qualsiasi pubblico si trovi di fronte per poi plasmarlo a suo piacimento!
Tornando a parlare del 7 dicembre altri due artisti hanno movimentato invece la notte capitolina nei 2 locali di maggior richiamo, il Goa ed il Brancaleone.

Let´s take a step back and talk about last Saturday, where the french madmoiselle, Jennifer Cardini, was the undisputed star of the night life in Bologne with her performance at Cassero.
Looking back at December the 7th, two other artists played in 2 of the main Rome´s clubs: Goa and Brancaleone. Sascha Dive, hosted by "Anarchy in the club”, created deep atmospheres as usual blending American-style with Detroit, Chicago and new concept house. This young boy has an impressive musical knowledge, able to stun also the "old school" clubbers who didn’t like the new german house music.
