dsp is proud to present, as mp3 free download, this amazing and special project by Darkfarmer (the solo project by James Taylor from Swayzak). "beacuse" is a deep, intense and emotive work. James surprised us once again with his great music.
"At some point in 2001 I started to listen to BBC Radio 3(UK classical radio station). I was first enamoured by its lack of commercials but as the months passed, I began to frequently enjoy the music also. Having moved to France in 2002, I became an avid listener to France Musique (again classical radio station). Both these stations play music that I found to be a perfect antidote to the rhythm heavy electronic music that I normally make.
Late 2004, after the birth of my 2nd child, I found myself with time to spare pushing my young son around my home city of Montpellier. Being drawn inevitably to the many fine 2nd hand record shops that are in the old town.
I began to buy classical cds, amassing a fair collection, chosen mainly by virtue of costing less than €5. It seemed to be a logical step to then use this music that I was enjoying so much as source material for my own work.
Thus, I spent evenings on headphones with my laptop working through the sounds and making music purely for my own pleasure.
The unfinished sketches then took on a fuller form as I began to travel again to play live gigs.
Often on the return train home I would work on these tracks, again finding them a perfect antidote to club sounds of the previous night, with a tired head and just looking out of the window and
listening.
I never really intended to release this music, more just to enjoy
for my family, friends and myself. But with time I feel now that I would like to share this work with others."
